We recently returned from a vacation in Fredericksburg/San Antonio - aka the "hill country." My Dad joined us for the first part of the trip and our neighbors (Chad, Krissy, Luke & Gracie) met us for the second half. We stayed at the
Hyatt Hill Country Resort. If you've never traveled to this area of the country, I highly recommend it (the fact that it was a 5 hour drive was a major plus for us).

We took a tour of the famous Willow City Loop where you are likely to encounter "loose livestock" and mountain goats.
Next stop: Wildflower farm. Fredericksburg is known for its hills, wildflowers, lavender fields, wineries and cozy B&Bs, as well as German cuisine and culture).

On to the Hyatt Hill Country Resort where S'mores are a nightly highlight.
We often strolled the property, which was beautiful (hills, cactus, golf course, lazy river, several pools, play area, sprawling lawns (where the boys played flashlight tag and frisbee).
Oh, did I forget to mention the nightly hayride?!?
OK, the real attraction: THE POOL.
And, floating down the lazy river (where Kieper and Karsten were often lulled to sleep).

We went behind the scenes and "dined" with Shamu, so the boys got to quiz the trainers and see the whales up close.
